About Shells Sourdough

Hi everyone.

My name is Shelley and I am located in Karaka Lakes, Auckland. I have created this business to share my love and passion for making sourdough. I started making sourdough at the end of lockdown and since then I have been experimenting with different flavors and every kind of sourdough bread I can make. It has been a long few years in experimenting and I have loved every second of it.

I started off by handing out a few breads to my close neighbours for them to try. I then moved onto doing weekly posts to give out my breads to the community and they were getting snatched up fast. It was getting hard to keep track 😂 Doing this has helped me with feedback and the confidence to start up this business.

I specialize in making sourdough breads in all different flavors as well as many other types of sourdough bread products. All bread is hand-crafted at home in my own kitchen and each loaf is bursting with flavour and perfect for any meal.

Sourdough is known for being gut friendly and is up there in being one of the most nutritious breads as well as being a prebiotic-rich food.

I am really thankful for all of the support I have been getting and am very excited to be starting this journey with you all to discover the joy of freshly baked sourdough 🩷

About me

Like many others, I started making sourdough towards the end of the COVID lockdowns in 2020.  It started as just a hobby but straight away my family realised we werent getting sore tummies after eating this bread, therefore I made it regularly.

Over the last four years I have been baking near weekly and gifting away to the neighbours as there was far too much for our family to eat!!

Late 2024 my workflow in my job slowed right down.  I needed something else. 

Shell's Sourdough was born.
